Notes for Rick - February 2006

Many hypos since my last visit. They are mostly at night and I wake up, although the episode during the day, 10 Nov, while out shopping was of concern. Everything stopped, and I could not see or understand anything. It was alarming to be immobilised in public.


15 Sept 2005 Public Hospital Dental Clinic – Teeth decaying rapidly, Dentist report.

5 Oct 2005 12 pm 2 bgl (blood glucose level)

7 October 2005 - Dr. H. – Pneumonia Vax

8 Oct 2005 10am 2 bgl, 2pm 18bgl

19 Oct 2005 2am, 1.2 bgl

22 Oct2005 1pm 2 bgl, disorientated, nausea

2 Nov 2005 3 hypos in a row. Very sick ALL day

7 Nov 2005 Very low 6pm, 3 bgl (even after snack and after tea)

10 Nov 2005 Out shopping, 2.1 bgl, very ill, dizzy, spots before eyes, could not see items on the shelf, trying to shop. Geoff there. 1/2 hr recovery until we could get home. Low for the remainder of the day. see Log book scan week45-2005

12 Nov 2005 2am, 2bgl – not enough tea.

21 Nov 2005 Hypo, 9am after breakfast

23 Nov 2005 QE11 Hospital Dental Clinic - 4 x 500mg Amoxycillin Script from Dentist, to use before the next teeth cleaning at the Clinic.

28 Nov 2005 3bgl on waking, feeling very low

4 Feb 2006 2.7bgl at 7am

Changed back 14>12 units of Protophane, although trying to lose weight. Most insulin seems to help me gain weight.

11 Dec 2005 7am, bgl 2 Shaking and sweating, diving for food.

15 Dec 2005 3am, bgl 2.0 Awake most of the night.

22 Dec 2005 10am, 3.1 bgl, Taking too many Christmas phone calls, feeling exhausted.

24 Dec 2005 Extreme hyper 28 bgl 9pm. Geoff gave me 2 units Humolog every ½ hr. x 3. Geoff worrying about whether to ring an ambulance, or whether he should give more shots immediately.

25 Dec 2005 (Christmas Day) 7am 2 bgl, very low. 23bgl by 2pm. Could not go to Christmas Tea invitation. Far too ill. Trying to lower bgl after the high level, and feeling spaced out.

26 Dec 2005 – 31 Dec 2005 Very high and feeling very ill, - bgl 19, 16, 15, 21, 26, 20 ,18, 24, 15, 21 17, 21- Insulin not bringing the high levels down.

4 January 2006 –

Taking note of exact insulin intake.

In the past week I had 60 units of Humolog, 179 units of Protophane, averaging 34 units a day.

19 Jan 2006 8am 3.3 bgl Feeling low. Too low to cook breakfast.

Other times, mainly high, 10 bgl – 22 bgl. Feeling grossly ill, unable to cook meals, and very tired.
